Terry Hegar
Terry is the team's owner, manager, racer, and Dad. He began racing competitively
in 1959 and a competitor he is. Terry has won many IKF and WKA championships and
is just as fast today as ever. He has built a business that helps him to justify
the incredible number of hours that he has dedicated to the sport and that allows him
to provide fellow competitors with quality, safe race equipment. In 1977 he won the
Troy Ruttman award for building a dual carburetor, methanol burning 250cc motor, and
the chassis it ran on, from scratch. A few years later Terry was honored by the
racing community and the Strausser family with the Jim Clark Memorial award for all
he has done for karting. In 1982 Terry won the Lou Borelli Award, road racing's
highest award for mechanical excellence.
